The human brain remembers the look of a walnut: as it has two halves rounded, convoluted surface and connected by the center. These two halves are called left brain and right hemisphere. However, the human nervous system is connected to the brain through a crossover, so that the right hemisphere controls the left side of the body, and the left hemisphere controls the right side. If you suffer an injury to the left brain, the affected body part is right, and vice versa. However, since this new concept of the brain there is an important connotation for learning, thus, it will describe momentarily the research, sometimes referred to as split-brain studies, which took place mainly California (Weinstein, & Graves, 2002).
Discussion
The recent research on the human brain has greatly expanded scientific theories about the nature of human consciousness. The new findings are directly applicable to the task of freeing human creative capabilities. During the 60's, similar studies were conducted with human patients, which provided new information on the functions of the corpus callosum and forced scientists to rethink their views on the relative abilities of the two halves of the human brain (Vitale, 1982). However, a creative person is one qua new ways to process the information available, the sensory data that we all receive. A writer needs words, a musician needs notes, a painter needs visual perceptions, and they all need some knowledge of the techniques of their trades. But any creative individual instinctively sees possibilities for transforming ordinary data into a new creation, beyond the raw material used.
