Using Leadership Theories

Introduction

The topic in discussion for our paper focuses on how I and my coaching team would use one or more leadership theories or approaches to provide the quality of leadership required to make WaveRiders a successful company once again. The paper aims to develop a framework of the organizational management theories and enable managers to better understand the need of contemporary management skills in effective problem solving. The content covers different aspects of today's management theories that are progressing day by day, but at the same time backed up earlier management theories and philosophies. We cannot claim that management theories are regressing; however, our proposal is to reflect on the state of knowledge and administrative implementation of management theories. Its importance is imposed at this time of great change in organizations.

Management challenges today need managers to successfully apply the professional paradigms of ethical goals of management theories and efficiency in their implementation. If we begin to reflect on the current state of management theory and its possible critical analysis we have to start with the epistemological status. The epistemological status of management has generated considerable controversy among scholars Few people take the view that it is a technology that aims to achieve practical objectives; whereas, others consider it as a part of the scientific category of management system. Like any other field of research management raises ethical and philosophical problems in the practical application of their theories and philosophies considering contemporary management values, norms and decisions.

We sense to think of new models of dynamic analysis that can explain the causal behaviour of organizational systems. The paradigm is usually located in the heart of theories; a tendency to materialize the embodiment of the concepts and abstractions of management theories. The analysis leads us to believe that we cannot ignore the social and political perspective to understand the negotiation of stakeholder interests and power games they wield when they work in organizations. The company often appears as the privileged place of instrumental rationality maximizing profits. The management is interdisciplinary as it needs to talk to several disciplines (sociology of organizations, sociology of work, political theory) that will lead us, perhaps, new ways of understanding the phenomena under study.

Discussion

When an individual, group and organizational values are synchronized, tremendous energy is created. People feel vested in their workplaces. People feel more effective because they feel they are doing something meaningful. Therefore, organizations greatly benefit from shared values. Employees are more motivated when they believe that their values and the organization's values are in alignment.

In a context where there have been enormous impact transformations in technology, production practices and organizational methods dominate the global competitive landscape, and a total redefinition of the rules in the domestic economy, the companies are facing challenges and opportunities whose decision largely define the characteristics of the style of development that will take in the country on a long term. The organizational design is ...
