Introduction

Leadership as a term coins different concepts in only one word. It not only defines the personality trait of a person, but it also defines the need and role of different approaches to get things done in an effective manner by leading a group of people. A strong leadership mechanism involves set of competencies to influence and drive the actions of people especially when working in a group or as a team leader. There are two separate views relating to leadership styles: one view holds that leaders are born. The qualities they embody are unlimited. Other concept is that in order to emerge as leaders, humans need to work hard and develop these qualities. In this paper, we will try to analyze whether leader are born or made.

Discussion

Leadership enables to lead team while maintaining their enthusiasm and motivation continuously for the accomplishment of goals and objectives. Different researchers have presented different concepts related to leadership. These concepts mainly differ based on the need of leadership style and its importance in different contexts. All these leadership style encompass the concept of capability to lead, manage, direct the behavior, motivate team/group members, guide their actions, and encourage initiative and goal-oriented behavior in them (Tagger & Hackett, 2009). Leadership styles concerns with influencing other and persuasion. Over a time period, various leadership styles have been developed based on the impact of each leadership style in situation demand. Contemporary organizations are more concerned with adapting effective leadership practices that enable the organization to become more oriented towards goals by involving employees as a key component in their course of actions.

In order to understand whether Leaders are born or made, we must first understand the traits of a strong leader.

Traits of a Good Leader

Leadership is the task of motivating, guiding, directing and leading others in the right direction in order to fulfill certain mutual aims and objectives. A leader through leadership role shows the right and correct path to his or her subordinates. Leadership provides subordinates guidance with which they can bring improvement in their work. A reciprocal process within a group context that occurs when a leader influences group members to make intentional change toward a shared purpose and goal attainment.

Becoming a leader is one of the most multifarious human behaviors. One cannot say that there one method to view leadership intelligence in an individual. Personality plays a valuable part in transformation of a person into a leader. Not only is this, people believe that based on the intelligence of personal leadership traits become significant.

It is essential for all the leaders to know their value and worth. One of the best qualities in a leader is that they are capable of identifying the importance of ethical performances and code of conduct.
