Kenneth M. Stampp is regarded as one of the most renowned historian of the twentieth century. He was a professor of History at the University of Berkeley, California. He was born on 20th of July, 1912 in Wisconsin. He left for his heavenly abode on the 10th of July, 2009 at the age of 96. He was one the most highly acclaimed historian for his evaluation of three fundamental chapters from the history of United States, that is, slavery, the southern reconstruction and the coming of civil war. However, his works were controversial depicting the underneath facts, his contemplation and prevailed. His interpretation and understanding was attractive for the think tanks, as well as, the society.

He was inspired by the neighborhood, in which, he grew up. Surrounding him, were the Germans. They advocated socialism and Methodism, so did his family. His parents were German Socialist supporters. Whereas, the Americans, have liberalism as the most fundamental value. When reached grade V, he aspired to take immense interest in history. After having done his graduation, he aspired to enroll for his Doctorate program, in history. He completed his doctorate in 1942.he sued to attend meeting of socialist parties, and has been an ambassador of socialistic system of government. At the age of 46, he joined the faculty of university of Berkeley and associated with them for over six decades.

His first work, published in 1956, named 'The peculiar institution', which deals with slavery in the region. The book presents demographical and statistical analysis, as well as, the descriptive work on the southern slavery from the seventeenth century to the mid of nineteenth century. He was dedicated to the betterment of the world, and immensely advocated this through his writings. He was concerned about what we make of the planet we lived in. his work was full of sound judgment and his tendency towards integrity on social scale in every society.
