“The Story of an Hour” is an epigrammatic tour-de-force story by Kate Chopin in which Louise Mallard, when learned that her husband was killed in an accident on railroad, experience an absurd sense of liberty and self-assertion that marriage, to a man like Mallard who was a gentle person was unacceptable. The death report was a flawed, and when Mallard came back later in the day, Louise died in a Joyce of happiness.
