I am writing this letter in reference to your ad in the newspaper as I meet the required skills and requirements for the position available in your hospital. I belief I am suitable for the job of an assistant psychologist as I have the educational background and the experience.

Working in a healthcare organization is a very responsible job; one has to have the zeal of reaching out and helping people. Helping others have always made me feel happy. I have always felt that by helping a person in need, you create a special bond with them. I have helped many friends and even strangers, whom I am still in contact with. As I was born in Zambia, I fully understand the suffering of the people as my country is a place that often faces challenges of scores of different diseases. In Zambia, various seasonal outbreaks of cholera, typhoid, malaria, pneumonia, flu and many other diseases occur. Numerous people suffer and even die due to lack of care and help. Witnessing the suffering of my people for many years, I became determined to become a psychologist so that I can ease their sufferings.

I became a counselor at my school and helped students with their problems. After graduating from high school, I got a job in ZCCM mining Company in their customer service department. My competencies and skills both the subject with excellence gave me competitive edge to solve problems efficiently and effectively. I also helped the people through participating in different HIV/AIDS awareness campaigns which were held in churches, schools and hospitals to educate people about HIV/AIDS. I can easily work for consecutive hours with little or no supervision and still get the job done right the first time. I have excellent negotiating and communication skills which I required through counseling and spreading awareness among the people.

Statement of Claims

Situation

HIV/AIDS awareness campaign in different areas.

Task

I had to educate people about HIV/AIDS, interview the people and encourage them to go for diagnosis testing and counselling. I reasarched about the disease and its diagnosis so that I can educate the people.

Action

I went to many public gatherings like churches, schools and hospitals to educate people about HIV/AIDS. Interviewed people and encouraged them to go for diagnosis testing and counseling. I talked to a lot of people about HIV/AIDS and tried my best to make them understand the importance of diagnosis.My team advised and refered such people to our sponsors for drugs (HAART) so that they could be of some help to them and counsel them.
