Jacqueline Jones was born in 1948. She complete graduate studies in B.A from the university of Delaware in 1966, for further studies, went to University of Wisconsin (Madison), there complete her M.A in 1972, after that without any gap, start work on her PhD and complete her doctorate in 1976. She is highly recognized for work in the field of America a social history. Her topic of interest is southern US history area of expertise in African American and labor. Mostly exploring was done on 1835 to 1915 incidents on south U.S making black labor, as a base of her thesis. Has undoubtedly pictured all the hardships faced by women, white or black who came under labor category. Her literature review on slavery and racism is unbeatable plus books produced by her on that topic are masterpiece. She has written numerous research papers and articles for different books and journals. Her thoughts and intense research re conceptualized the labor class women problems though black or white, made her eminent as feminist that believe in gender equality. Her scholarly work has a lot of diversity and stages her intense interest in African American history and labor remain constant. She studied the pattern of poverty in America, its influence on colonel class and businessmen. Ethnical and social topics all together made her research more diversified and non fictional and portrayed her as an economist and social, feminist writer. Her efforts in the field of South American history and African American research make her prominent. Manuscripts produced by her, probe into the issues including economic strategies and their antagonistic effect, on human resources and American history.

Professionally she entered teaching field from the very same year started serving as assistant professor of history at Wellesley College. She trained historians there for a decade. With her efforts and devotion, time to time got promoted. Starting from assistant, to associate then as Professor was too good in her field. During this period, she develops keen interest in black women history especially lower labor class women problems. Soon After that joined brown university, as Clare Boothe Luce Visiting Professor. After working there for two years, for the betterment and professional growth started her work as Harry S. Truman Professor at Brandeis University from 1991-2008. Presently she is serving as, Professor of South American History at the U.T Austin, U.S America. With no uncertainties, she is a professional historian her area of interest is American communal history adding up, has produce inscriptions on slavery, economics, labor black women and class.
