Issues and Solutions of Oral Reading Fluency

Introduction

There are a number of medical issues and deficiencies that can only be identified or diagnosed only at a certain stage after performing certain acts. However, the age at which the condition or sickness is diagnosed and the activity that identified the condition may vary from person to person and case to case. Therefore, the initial reactions of many individuals towards this sudden realization of a disease being diagnosed are very absurd and majority of them starts to panic. However, majority of such diseases are known to be curable and treatable. These diseases can be further categorized in to physical and mental problems whereas the psychological issues can also further be divided into a number of categories. The term “Oral Reading Fluency” can simply be defined as the ability to read perfectly and accurately along with the act of reading it out loud. This act basically involves the combination of two actions simultaneously. Therefore, the coordination of the ability to read and orally deliver it are both involved in the practice. However, the awareness regarding the disease in general public is still not as satisfactory. Partially because of majority of people confuse the “Oral Reading Disability” with Dyslexia and partially because parents and teachers are still not fully aware of the accurate signs and symptoms of the disability, the disease continues to trouble a number of children on regular basis (Daly, 2006).
