Introduction

In Islam, all people are responsible and accountable for their behavior at the age of puberty. Islamic teachings about humble dress ask for to any someone, male or female someone, at that time. Islamic teachings on the subject based on the Koran, as well as specific statements / traditions of the Prophet Muhammad, known as hadith. In one often-cited tradition, it is reported that young women visited Muhammad's wife Aisha when she was wearing transparent clothing. Muhammad turned away and told her: "After a young woman reaches puberty, nothing should be seen from her except this and this", pointing to his face and hands. Thus, it is expected in this age for Muslim girls, to adapt a more modest style of dress that do not expose too much. Even before the age of puberty, many girls are accustomed to these values of modesty (Mernissi 1991 pp.30-55). They can try to educate about its Islamic duty, but ultimately they allow her to make a choice when it fully understands and feels ready to commit to that decision. Discussion
