Is majority rule a coherent principle for democratic government?
Every government has its own style of ruling and it is not necessary to have majority to rule in democratic government. Democratic government is one in which everyone have equal rights to contribute for the betterment of the country. The Government makes decision on mutual consideration depending on the right and wrong. Democracy is that system of government in which sovereignty resides and power is supported. This is, by direct or indirect elections, which chooses the country's leading authorities. It is also the people who can change or ratify those authorities, in the following popular elections. For this reason the Greeks spoke of democracy as government by the people, in fact this is its literal meaning. All democratic societies are built on the notion that private citizens should play a large role in their own governance. In fact, in the strictest democracies, citizens rule themselves by consensus; every person takes part in government.
The democratic engineering is the discipline designed to determine how a democratic system can operate in the best conditions.
If the popular imagination appreciates democracy to the existence of elections and majority rule, the range of rules to be observed is much wider. Building a democracy is not as easy as it sounds. The transition from conceptual model to the reality requires civic virtues and other factors interfere with the laws of the political universe exposed to all the influences .
We are no longer at a time when Western countries were convinced to embody the democratic model and exported, believing to do well, their own political system in the new nations seeking assistance. France can not serve as a model. Although our history is a laboratory for researchers in institutional engineering (we tried almost all political systems in two centuries), our country has not yet learned all the lessons of his own experience
