RFC 1546 provided a description of the Anycast process covering the bidirectional one-to-any transmission models. It also provides support for the addresses reserved for the service specific needs. The anycast mechanism involves the integrity of the data packet by assigning anycast address to the server and sending the packets to them. The server is then responsible for finding the destination anycast server and uses routers to switch network. RFC 2373 provides provides further clarification regarding the specification and usage of IPv6 architecture used in anycast adressign scheme.
