Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison

Ralph Ellison once said: "Society is the masked ball where everyone hides his real character, and reveals to hide." This quote sums up much of what I took from book Invisible Man by HG Wells. Company plays an important role in lives of everyone, no matter who we are and some of us more than others. Griffin was one of less fortunate, which allowed company to manage his life.

From time he was the young boy, Griffin was always trying to fit in was an albino and the different aspect of all others. But there was the solution to your problem: invisibility. slave endless hours trying to become what he felt would be socially welcome. If I could learn how to become invisible, company would name him the hero. Even in death, one woman said, "Gawd's sake, cover that face!”(136) Personally, I feel horrible that anyone ever feels they have to try to change because" society says. "Griffin should have been accepted for albino because people should have been able to get past his appearance to realize that he had the personality as they did.

In principle, main character lives in the small town in South. He is the model student, including being named valedictorian of her high school. Real battle is composed of young black blindfolded fighting in the boxing ring, while their white superiors see benefit. Finally, after giving his speech, he gets the scholarship to the black college that is clearly inspired by Tuskegee Institute.

While most of his rallies without problems, he soon encounters problems Exhorter Ras, the fanatical black nationalist line of Marcus Garvey, who believed that Brotherhood is controlled by whites. Ras says that narrator and Tod Clifton, the youth leader of Brotherhood, none of which seem to be influenced by their words.

Story ends with narrator musing on problems of life. story starts from where it started, narrator is still in same place. However, at end of novel, narrator is ready to come back because "open stock" has already taken place. It could be that, which tells story, narrator has already made the political statement where change can occur. Storytelling, time, and preservation of history of these people invisible is what causes political change.

Main theme of book is invisibility of oppressed. As title suggests, main character is invisible because everyone sees it as the stereotype, not the real person. While narrator often bemoans his state of invisibility, which is to embrace final. He realizes there is the number of advantages to allow him to remain undetected and unobtrusive.
