Pott Plants made a small steady profit year by year. George Pott himself, whilst not seeming to put in much effort, had developed good relationships over the years with local councillors, who all spoke highly of Pott Plants' arrangements for the town hall functions, and the council (local administrators) often came to him for its specialist needs. Many of the local hotels also knew George well, and Pott Plants' arrangements were often a key feature at weddings, and other special functions.
