Interview of a Gay

Introduction

I interviewed a person, who was a teacher in a high school of North California, and his sexual orientation was not straight. I conducted a small interview in order to increase my knowledge about the lifestyle of gay person and, how they feel being the part of our society.

How do you identify yourself (ethnically, racially, sexual orientation, ability)?

As you know that, I have taken birth in a black family and, my forefathers were slaves of the white population. I was always racially discriminated at my childhood and, females of white population always looked at me with hatred. These things have put me in complex and, I was losing interest in females even, black females. I am a gay and, I am proud of saying it because, I do not find any issue to be a gay as there are also legal rights of gays.

Do you recall when you first realized that you are a member of this group?

I recalled when I was at the age of 12 and, studying in the high school, one of my friends hugged me and, I felt something strange. I was attracting towards him and, I started taking interest more in boys as I had already developed hatred for females. I spent hours and hours with my mates and, touched them wherever I want and, they did not stop me. It was terrible, but I realized that, I am not straight at all and, liked boys more than girls.

What was your reaction when you got know that you are a Gay?

I was not thinking at the age of 11 that, I would be a gay. When I came to know at the age of 12, I was little amazed that, why I started hating females of my age and older than me. I was in the strange situation because, I was not able to discuss with my mates and, parents. This is not the case to discuss with anyone unless, we find the individual of the same group.

What have been the positives and negatives of membership?

When I realized that, I was a gay then, I started to look at the positive aspects of this group. I realized that, there are the strong and mutual feelings of trust among gays. I started to respect each gay and, they also showed love and respect to me. We spent long hours at picnics and hangouts and, enjoyed best moments of our lives. The only negative aspect of becoming the part of this group is that, certain individuals look with a strange view towards me and they don't show respect, which is the guy right.

How would you characterize society's response to your membership?

Society has not the good response toward my membership as certain individuals do not show respect towards gayism. There are the majority of individuals who are straight and, gays are in minority, which create the issues for gays to express their feelings and, ideas being the part of the ...
