The lives of people all over the world are easily information technology and communications, which affect the way people work, live, learn and shop. Adding a cultural aspect of the study the adoption of the Internet should enrich the understanding of society and thus its ability to bring the Internet in areas of different cultures. The paper aims to explore the negative impact of using internet in the non-western societies with specific emphasis on the cultural and political aspect.

The information today is transmitted instantly around the globe is available in huge quantities through the novel instrument that is the Internet. This affects immediate transmission of information with obvious social, cultural and political revolutions. Simultaneously, internet allows diffusion without any borders to spreading knowledge, but this knowledge is largely mediated and generated by those who manage the contents (Sagahyroon, 1995, pp. 163). This is quite a reason for the manipulative contents to that are acceptable in many parts of the country, but the non-western societies need to choose the acceptable contents over the internet to make sure the knowledge is culturally and politically correct for their society. However, we cannot overlook the fact that internet is the fastest medium of information exchange and many non-western countries, for example Middle Eastern countries, have activated site viewing restrictions to ensure explicit contents that may infer with the existing culture of the society is not negatively affected. When a special form of technology materializes in the environs of a culture, it accomplishes far more than the obvious tasks (Hudson, 2000, pp. 362). Faced with the mass media, the Internet is interactivity, participation, creativity, partnership, the ability to create content and share them with others in absentia, Internet users who share that point of which is a web meeting.

The right to knowledge is a controversial debate here; the societies may need to choose between the right and wrong content to be viewed over internet in their respective society. Indeed, information available online today retains a strong Western character that is being consumed even in societies culturally away from the West by educated elites largely believing on values of the West (Mansell, 2001, pp. 282). This is what they refer to as 'modernization'. However, others may believe that the teachings and trends of the West are exploiting their cultural norms and the political processing in their country.
