The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is a group of the normalization of the 120 member countries. Founded in 1947, the ISO sets international standards for products and services in virtually all settings in business and industry. In recent years, achieving ISO certification was the key to success in business companies operating in the global market.
In addition, ISO 14000 is a standard series of processes: a family of environmental management standards and guidelines. It strives to establish the environmental ethics of an organization and improve its ability to achieve and measure environmental performance. The rules affect all aspects of industrial process from design to manufacturing and marketing. Compliance with ISO 14000 is entirely voluntary. Most organizations do to obtain certification because they recognize that the performance of the ISO in practice include reducing costs, improving production efficiency, reduction of responsibility and competitive advantage.

Each work team checks the quality of its own products, so operators must be capable of doing and understanding the statistical quality analysis. These results are displayed so everyone knows how the work team is doing. Anybody can stop the production process if they are unhappy about the level of quality being produced until the problem is found and resolved. This will help Scott Bader to be as efficient as possible. Everyone in Scott Bader shares the responsibility of quality. In their manufacturing plants, the operators are responsible for testing the batches when they make them. They also have a Quality Control department to do the final tests before the products are approved. Scott Bader is accredited with an ISO 9001 and an ISO 14001 accredited Company.
