Permanent Court of International Justice was the first court of the world. The International Court of Justice (ICJ) is the principal judicial organ of the UN. It was established in 1945 in The Hague (Netherlands). The ICJ is an integral part to the Charter of the UN. It is responsible for settling legal disputes between States Parties and advisory opinions to the UN and its agencies. The “Statute of the Court "is an integral part of the" UN Charter.” (Dunne, 1988)
