Introduction

This paper will focus on the innovation capability of my firm that is Soft Tech. Soft Tech falls in the category of the software industry and it keeps on bringing new innovations in the organization so that the operations can be dealt smoothly. The business and organizational world are full of constant challenges, goals and dreams. One of the biggest challenges is the organizational innovation. Business professionals should be aware of the existing need to go with the flow in a changing world, where every day we are engaged in technological, business, political, economic, social, and cultural challenges. In order to change, we need to innovate (Poole 2000, 25-36).

For innovation, Employees must have the confidence to share their ideas with the rest of the organization. They need to trust that they can make mistakes without suffering negative consequences. Management must demonstrate its commitment to innovation through excellent internal and external communication. They must also demonstrate commitment to be themselves and encouraging innovative creativity taking risks. It is necessary to implement highly imaginative ideas, which are inherently more risky than other types of improvements. The money is also needed to invest in training and implementation and use of tools. To apply, store, evaluate, and share ideas from employees, proper tools and techniques should be used. Other areas that require the use of tools include brainstorming, mind mapping and other techniques that facilitate creative thinking and collaboration. Assessment Methods should be used to evaluate the ideas generated by other tools. Small gifts or incentives, that motivate employees to participate and share creative ideas with the organization, should be given. As professionals, the aspect of organizational innovation in the field must be taken into account. Each day becomes more evident the need for change in organizations, and the field of information is one of these (Osborne 2005, 154-162). The technology has been one of the largest precursors of change in our field of information. It is for this reason that we must adopt new knowledge, new ideas and new goals to keep up in this process.

Discussion

At Soft Tech, innovation is introducing ideas, products, process or procedures which exists elsewhere but new to the organization. Unlike invention which is about creating something does not exist like Television. Creativity is about seeing what others cannot see, arranging thoughts and forming new ideas, it also the ability of solving problems in different ways attracts others following it. Change is a process to make things becoming different; it is “an alteration, a different state of affairs” as George Boak defines it.

In successful organizations like Soft Tech, innovation act as Oxygen, to make them sustain success and existence. To achieve that they had to identify the fields for innovation and what products or services they need to develop or maintain.
