Abstract

The aim of this paper is to analyze information sharing in Buyer-Supplier relationships in Libyan Airline Industry. A increasing number of studies and clues from industries suggest that, besides organising the relationship with its suppliers, a buyer needs to proactively organise the relationships between those suppliers. In a buyer-supplier-supplier relationship triad, the buyer, as the contracting entity, influences the suppliers' behaviors and the relationship between them. By considering the relationships in such a triad, we are adept to gain a more affluent and more realistic perspective of buyer-supplier relationships. In this study, our aim is to analyze supplier-supplier relationships in buyer-supplier-supplier triads, focusing on how such relationships influence the supplier performance.Although the idea that buyer-supplier partnerships can yield considerable benefits to firms is largely diffused among researchers and practitioners, the approach adopted in this paper is that no “one best way” exists in buyer-supplier relationships, but rather a “best way” for each specific exchange context.
