The main idea behind the both the essays is very simple and clear, both the authors have endeavored to explain the meaning of American childhood and adults. Both these authors have depicted the social concerns of the typical American in a delightful way. They have explained the influence of American culture and the social issues in a delightful way. In This paper, we will compare the essays “The Struggle to Be an All-American Girl” and “The Men We Carry in Our Minds,”. Moreover, we will show how Wong's “Girl” and Sander's “Men” form the basis for two unique --yet common-- American experiences: being of one culture by birth, yet being expected to know, love, and be a part of another by practice.

Similarities
As far as the similarities between both the essays are concerned, both the authors have emphasized on the educational system of our country. They have endeavored to mention that the educational system in our country facilitates to open up the mind of the youngsters. As in case of Sander, he was able to recognize the thoughts of the opposite gender after taking admission to the college. On the other hand, Wong has also emphasized the importance of the educational system by mentioning how the American schooling system and language attracted her.
