Initiatives to Promote Inclusion in Educational Systems

Introduction

The paper will discuss the ways of improving school systems in terms of promoting inclusion as well as the school and local initiatives in supporting inclusion within an educational context. Regardless of the efforts that are made to promoting the improvements in the schools, some of the children remain marginalised by current arrangements. The promotion of inclusive schools has been one of the biggest challenges of the education systems in the world. On the other hand, inclusion considered as a controversial and complex issue, and also the development of its practices in education system is not understood well. For the improvement of school systems, there must be an in depth research as to how we can develop and promote inclusion in the school systems effectively.

The existing literature on the topic challenges a number of assumptions regarding the school improvement and the reform in educational system, while proposes that the inclusive practices will only be implemented effectively by having a detailed conversation with teachers and the policy makers about their deeply held beliefs. For this purpose, they have to provide an innovative way of thinking on how the educational systems can be made more inclusive. The approach to the development of inclusive schools has recommended some major implications for policy and practice in the field. These are:

• Implications for the school leaders regarding their roles and responsibilities in the development of inclusive systems

• The way staff teams may work in collaboration with each other for addressing the barriers to learning and participation

• The way schools collect and use facts to support their practices

• The critical perspectives to which schools need access

• The implications for the relationships among schools, researchers and the local authorities

It begins with the principle that education is the fundamental right of a human and also the basis for a more just society. Many people considered inclusion as an approach to serve the children who has disabilities in the education systems. Globally, on the other hand, inclusion values are considered more widely as a reform which welcomes and supports the diversification between all the students without ...
