ABD Medical Center will begin a training program to train nurses for hourly rounding. The hospital will start with approximately four pilot nursing units and will later expand to ten nursing units. In order to ensure successful implementation of hourly rounding, all of the staff is required to participate at the unit and consistent leader rounding is also needed. If there are any variances in procedures that do not get addressed, then it will give unreliable results the patients will be disappointed, which might even lead to complains being filed about the staff. The aim of the plan is to give satisfaction to patients and also to decrease call lights (Hourly Rounding, 2007).
In order to make sure that the overall plan is implemented and is in effect, weekly meetings will be held for hourly rounding, which will be headed by the director of nursing staff. Approval will be taken from the Director who will allow a meeting to take place, which will bring together leaders from all the units of ABC Medical Centre. By attending this meeting, all those who are involved will get to review their performance, analyze the situation's challenges, devise ways to overcome problems, teach others and instigate a sense of accountability in themselves (Hourly Rounding, 2007). Effective implementation of the plan will allow nurses to improvise their current nursing actions (Watson, 2008).
