Imperialism

Imperialism is a foreign policy of economic domination and inevitable underdevelopment of another territory. It is achieved by seizing political control of a territory through military means for the purpose of acquiring raw material easily and inexpensively. Imperialism involves one government appropriating another.

In the actual process of imperialism the colony plays two roles: it supplies natural resources and buys the finished product. Peasant workers in colonies extract natural resources, like minerals, oil, cocoa, from the land, which are then sold cheaply.
