Introduction

September 11, 2001 was a historical tragedy. This event had a great impact on humanity. It is not possible to ignore the actual causes of that terrorist act. In order to attack the highest building of the World Trade Centre, the terrorists hijacked some airplanes. It was extremely lethal and destructive because approximately 3000 people died in that attack. The event also resulted in the downfall of the economy. This was the largest attack on the soil of United State of America; around the world including the miss happening that occurred in Japan, which was the Japanese attack on the Pearl Harbor. On September 11, 2011, four passenger jets were hijacked by nineteen radicals from the al-Qaeda. Those jet planes rammed the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City. Due to this hijacking, the suspicion quickly fell on Al-Qaida (Lewis, p.90).

The evidences of the involvement of Al-Qaida and Osama Bin Laden can be seen in the videos of speeches and interviews of Osama bin Laden. According to these views, the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center occurred because the United States was supporting Israel. The existence of the U.S. military in Saudi Arabia is also a motivation for these attacks.

The 9/11 attacks resulted in a serious damage to the economy. The event had also affected global markets. According to many people, 9/11 was a terrorist act. Nevertheless, according to different studies and scholars, it was an inside job. In order to support this argument, scholars presented different evidences.

The echoes of terror and fear are still perceptible, even after years have passed after the incident. Societies regained consciousness on their vulnerability as victims of future terrorist attacks. Countries became increasingly concerned for their rescue and safety. Governments expanded their budgets on security and defense of the homeland apart from taking domestic measures for internal conflicts resolution.

Discussion

The 9/11 was a catastrophe in the history of the United States. People have different opinions regarding the event. According to some scholars, 9/11 was an inside job. The purpose of 9/11 attacks was to justify war on terror and rationalize the invasion of Middle East countries. Another group of people believes that 9/11 was not an inside job but a terrorist activity that took place because of the conflicts between terrorist organizations and the United States.

Impact after 9/11

American citizen have a complete respect for human rights and they down rightly condemn violation of human rights in any form. There have been numerous cases across the globe, wherein US military soldiers involved in massive killings and sexual assaults in war torn countries. For instance, countries Iraq and Vietnam had been victims of US military's violation of human rights. They firmly believe that Human rights are rights inherent to all human beings, without distinction of nationality, place of residence, sex, national or ethnic origin, color, religion, language, or any other condition.
