The environmental cost of the Iraq war 2003 has not yet been tallied, but it is certain to be extensive because much of the infrastructure has been destroyed. UNEP has identified potential problems with disease-causing pollution, waste management, and unexploded munitions. Insurgents have deliberately set fire to oil wells, producing a thick haze of dark smoke that exacerbates respiratory conditions. After the Iraq war of 2003, Iraq's electric, transportation, water, and sanitation systems were verging on total collapse.

As a result of such wishful thinking, and of cruel realities left unanticipated or miscalculated, the 2003 assault and successive occupation of Iraq brought several problems for which little solutions remained at hand. In March 2003, a U.S.-led coalition invaded Iraq, and within six weeks had overrun the country and toppled Saddam's regime. The attack was the first unconcealed expression of what became known as the Bush Doctrine.

Soon after the end of Saddam's regime in Iraq, disorder and brutality just broke up. A enormous looting and a historic violence began that had taken the entire world in its grip. Insecurity in health sectors, millions of tragic deaths, mental and physical illness, lack of services and destroyed infrastructure resulted in a mountain of never resolving problems that have totally mess the activities and decisions at United Nation.

The impact of Iraq war was very severe, and yet the United Nation is still fighting to come out from those affects. The war has badly damaged the activities and raised the complications for its members to solve the problems of Iraqi people, but still all the strategies seems to be failed because of high level of violence.

The end results had to tolerate by both, the US and the United Nations. Today the war had become headache for every single members of United Nations. By looking at the some of the end results of Iraq War, we can estimate the impact of War on the United Nations.

Threat of Terror:

Today, Iraq has become the main sanctuary for the terrorist people. Because of greater insecurity and more violence, the member countries are facing bigger threat of major terrorist activities in their homelands. The terrorist from the Al-Qaeda movement have taken shelter in some areas of Iraq and from there, plotting some of the major terrorist incidents.
