Cultural Stereotype

Every language in the world has a way of conceptualizing it. Every nation has its own ideas about the world, people of other cultures. A society is formed of certain stereotypes - both about themselves, about the behavior and traditions within their own cultural space, and about the members of another linguistic and cultural space. Phenomenon and the concept of "stereotype" attracted considerable attention from researchers; many scientists (Walter Lippmann, Kon, A. Sorokin, I. Yu Markovina, AV Pavlov, NV Ufimtseva, B. B. Red, Harvey A. Daniels etc.) are studying the issue. The novelty of the study is that the phenomenon of stereotype will be considered in the broadest sense - as a concept, which includes submission of one nation about the culture of another nation as a whole (Einar, 1974).

Stereotype is a presentation about the world, shaped by the cultural environment (in other words, it is culturally determined attitudes), which exists both as a mental image, as well as a verbal stereotype - process and result of interaction (behavior), subject to certain semiotic models. Stereotype (as a generic term) includes the standard, which is a nonlinguistic reality, and the rate existing at the linguistic level. Stereotypes can serve as the characteristics of other people, and everything to do with ideas about the culture of one nation by another nation as a whole: common concepts, standards of verbal communication, behavior, category, similar thinking, prejudice, superstition, moral and etiquette norms, traditions, customs, etc.

Currently culturological knowledge is becoming more practical. Everywhere, social and cultural variables are included in the structure of the development and implementation of decisions relating to any of the vital sectors of social life. The results of studies in the cultural sciences are helping people in making socially significant decisions that allow us to understand what society the world in which he lives, what its capabilities in dealing with the environment. Practice shows that knowledge of cultural differences between people, countries, ethnic and professional groups, and the skillful use of the knowledge; increase the effectiveness of a knowledgeable party (Halliday, 1973).
