Implantation used since the decade of 1960 has been modified in the recent years to enhance the quality of treatment and patient's life style. Since there were some limitations with the use of implantation, novel techniques has been developed and immediate loading is precisely addressed in the recent years. Immediate implantation decreases the course of treatment and hence is of particular interest to the upcoming dentists. The major concern in the implantation is healing around the implant. Permanent fixation of the implant and aesthetics are also important in this regard. Special care must be taken when dealing with the infected wound. Proper osseointegration is the core concern for implantation. The patient must be implanted with prostheses that suit best as the physiological and anatomical aspects of each patient is distinguished. Certain types of implants are currently available and novel techniques including laser implantation and computed guides are also developed to enhance the quality patient care and aesthetics. Though the technique possesses some disadvantages, however the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. Proper protocols must be used to minimize complications of the procedure. The latest technology has by far proved to be efficient in minimizing the complications of the procedure. This is developing rapidly and more ideas are providing excellent ways to improve the treatment with implantation.
