In the following research study we will try to analyze the concepts of prejudice and imagined intergroup contact. The main focus of the research study is the effect of imagined intergroup contact in reducing prejudice. The research study will also illustrate how imagined intergroup contact promotes positive projections, reduces stereotypes, intergroup behavior and also help in reducing anxiety. The research study adopts the secondary research method for the purpose of data collection and analysis. In the end the research study also provides adequate recommendations and suggestions for future research and also provides implications for the study.

The following dissertation is based on the topic “The effects of imagined intergroup contact on prejudice and how similarity as a mediator affects the prejudice”. The first chapter of the dissertation will provide a detailed insight on the introduction to the topic which will also include the aims and objectives and rationale of the study. The second chapter of the dissertation will present a thorough review of the literature. The literature review will illustrate the previous research which has been carried out in the specific field. The chapter of literature review will give an insight on the previous researches which have been conducted in the field of prejudice and imagined intergroup contact. The third chapter will state and explain the methodology of the research study. The fourth chapter will analyze the findings and discussions will also be presented.
