This is in support of my admission in a post-graduate law program with specialization in family law at your prestigious institution. I was born in impoverished Georgetown, Guyana in South America. As a small child growing up in Brooklyn I always knew that I was going to do something special with my life. I understood that my mother sacrificed a lot for her children and my intentions was to be great in life.
My previous experience working with underprivileged children not only affirmed my passion for law but also my passion to help children. I would like to work as a family litigator in either the family court or as a guardian ad litem. At this juncture in my life, I seek more challenge and personal growth in a field that calls on my written skills, attention to detail, and love of children. My background in children and family services and courtroom cognizance will bring a unique perspective to the law classroom and will make me extremely marketable upon graduation. By pursuing a law degree, I intend to enter a profession that aligns me with the interests and aptitudes I have discovered and developed through real work experience. It is through deep personal reflection that I have decided that law is the natural extension of my training, personality, and talents.
