Hurricanes



Abstract

In this paper, we would analyze the anatomy, features, economic and environmental effects of hurricanes. There are several types of tornados: snow storms, tropical storms, dirt evil, thunder storms, wind storms, tornado and hurricane. In this paper we would discuss some of the major hurricanes i.e. Katrina. Hurricane Katrina in 2005 was one of the strongest hurricanes ever recorded in the Gulf of Mexico. In several U.S. states, it left a trail of destruction. The worst hit area was the metropolitan vicinity of New Orleans.

Introduction

The tropical cyclone (hurricane) is a term widely used to refer to weather a storm system caused by a closed circulation around a centre producing heavy rain, and strong winds. Tropical cyclones derive their energy from the condensation of moist air, producing strong winds. Depending on the strength and location, a Hurricane can be called simply cyclone, Tropical depression, tropical cyclone, typhoon, or Tropical storm. Hurricanes are categorized according to the strength of their winds.

Based on this scale, the Category 1 hurricane would be considered as the weakest and the strongest is Category 5 (Dyson, 2006). The planet Earth has suffered from different types of natural disasters. The purpose of this speech is to make the general public, scientific community and authorities on the various damages caused by the Hurricane Katrina so that they have an idea on hurricane and its consequences in the future. This speech will let audience know how dangerous Hurricane Katrina was and can be for the world in near future. The information provided in this speech is complete and the information has been obtained from reliable sources.

Katrina is a name that was assigned to a tropical storm in 2005 and marked as the most powerful hurricane in the history of the United States. In August 2005, the southern states of the U.S. hit severe hurricane "Katrina". Within a few days, it rolled down the coast of Florida, the Gulf of Mexico and Louisiana, destroying everything in its path. It flooded the main city of the state of Louisiana; New Orleans flooded and destroyed villages in the coastal areas of Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama.

Hurricane Katrina of 2005 is one of the most powerful hurricanes of United States. 60% of the State of Louisiana was flooded (Virginia, 2009). Winds of tropical storm raged over an area of 740 km in diameter, in the center, an area of 334 km diameter hurricane winds. With winds of 204 km / h, this hurricane is killed around 1,800; hundreds missing are missing, 250,000 displaced, and it cost the nation around of $ 134 billion. But these numbers do not really measure the magnitude of the consequences of such a disaster natural.
