Introduction

John Broadus Watson John Broadus Watson psychologist U.S., he received a doctorate in the field of Animal Psychology from the University of Chicago he was the founder of the school of psychology known as the “behaviorism”. John Watson born on January 9, 1878 in Greenville (South Carolina); USA was the son of a wealthy American farmer (Watson, 1924). At his skills man united and hardworking student a rigorous objectivity in their experiments, in view of which ingenuity invented instruments. He was a passionate temperament and passionate polemics; sure of their ideas, defended them from all attacks and knew all his enthusiasm spread throughout the American psychology. His materialistic contributed to enhancing the value of the environment in shaping personality, to the point that driving one, the personality could be cast. In this paper, we are going to discuss how theorist John Watson influenced the development of humanistic psychology.

For over two thousand years, psychology has been understood in its etymological sense of “discipline aimed at the soul.” Indeed, "psyche" means soul, and therefore, psychology means "the study of the soul." When in 1700 and then in 1800 began to break through the idea that the psyche could be known better through the analysis based on experience, created the premises for a change in the method of investigation that would have given way to the birth of psychology science (Schneider & Pierson, 2001).

But the object of psychology remained the same, i.e., the psyche, though his character of substance (the soul) had been replaced by its phenomenal aspect (the conscience) and many researchers seem to prefer precise analysis of reactions before introspective examination of conscience. Probably, very few would have doubted that psychology could have no other object of study because, to renege on that object, would have refused to itself by definition.

The behaviorism represents the revolution more radical approach to study psychology, because not only is responsible also believes that the behavior observed, but comes to reject times you have to take consciousness. From one perspective, one could say that behaviorism proposes a new discipline with a different object of study, except that its purpose of explaining all the issues faced by the old psychology in a more satisfactory and scientifically satisfactory behaviorism has the only way to do science to psychology. In other words, the object psyche explained in psychological content (emotion, habit, learning, personality, etc.). And it proposed to study through its manifestation in terms of observable emotional behaviors, habitual behaviors, learning behaviors, behaviors etc. constitute the personality.
