ABSTRACT
Outsourcing any business process involves both direct and indirect costs and benefitS. Some of the obvious direct, costs include the personnel costs of time spent identifying the business processes to be outsourced, selecting vendors, and managing the vendor relationship. Outsourcing may entail reductions or increases in material and supply costs, training, travel, new equipment and retail. Other direct benefits include staff time and labour costs saved and savings from additional operating efficiencies such as lower material, equipment and retail costs. Outsourcing is transferring over the accountability and liability for performing numerous business functions or activities to an outside specific vendor that required by a industry to carry out its operation. Due to advantages of outsourcing there has been a continuous rise in the outsourcing activity, in the retail industry. It is becoming significant and a key tool for retailers, leaving them to concentrate more on retailing rather than other business areas. Cost reduction is frequently the core focus of all retailers behind outsourcing. It has been seen that numbers of firms have positively implemented outsourcing and have gained their preferred outcomes. The result from the findings brings forward that in today's competitive industry environment reduction in cost, is important for firms to stay competitive. Outsourcing has gained desirability from more and more businesses than in the past and it is assumed that in the future, the outsourcing industry will develop more with off-shore being the most common of totally.
