Huckleberry Finn

There are many opened and closed minded people in the world. In the great novel "The adventures of Huckleberry Finn", Mark Twain shows us that. He shows humans that closed and ignorant lifestyles are destroying society, in such ways as slavery. Taiwan uses cynicism veritably through the novel by mocking, telling stories, and even in a way curses characters portrayed in the story. He mocks Pap, Tom, and Huck in even some ways. Mark Taiwan was against slavery and expresses his emotions, his feelings and doubts about both society, and such aspects as slavery. (Twain, pp. 20)

In life today and in the novel "Huckleberry Finn" cynicism is used in ways of mockery and attitudes toward society. According to Webster's dictionary the word Cynic or Cynical is defined as "one who attributes all actions into selfish motives". A cynical person despises all selfish acts as to slavery, the abusive form of communism, or even some forms of democracy. In the novel "Huckleberry Finn", Taiwan uses many forms of cynicism. Therefore Mark Taiwan is a cynical person. One example of cynicism is if someone mocks another aspect. Let us say that I or someone else disagreed with someone's ideals. If I thought that someone's ideals were selfish and demoralizing, than I would have a cynical state of mind. I am not saying that being cynical is acting pessimistic, but saying that being cynical is being opened minded and aware. A lot of people other than Mark Taiwan do use cynicism. Authors, songwriters and even politicians. For example if you watch television during election time there are always commercials and ads on who to vote for and who not to vote fore. For example, the republican candidate will put an ad out using negative things about the Democratic candidate. Those negative attributes that the republican candidate said are cynical attributes. Everyone uses cynicism in a way. Cynicism is an act of mockery, and a cynic is a person who exposes his or her beliefs in an unconventional sort of way. (Twain, pp. 20)
