Introduction

Hospice is medical facility is a sanatorium, specialized care for serious and terminally ill patients. It's just a definition, but behind it a lot. Hospice is a place where doctors and health workers meet with the highest expression of his profession is with compassion and sacrifice. Hospice is a house, in which patients come with pain, despair and fear, and be comforted. Hospice is a place where anyone can express their compassion and assist your neighbor. (Forman, 2003)

Hospice care for terminally ill patients assists prepare these patients for death, treating their symptoms and prepare their loved ones, and themselves, by the end of life. Patients retain their dignity and some overcome over their lives. Their loved ones get counseling to assist them accept the impending loss.

Role and Tasks of Hospice Nursing

Hospices nursing for pain relief have a mission to enhance the quality end of life of people and aim to enhance the quality end of life of patients by a multidisciplinary management. Thus, medical treatment or surgery may be indicated for a patient in hospice nursing, if this treatment can relieve symptoms uncomfortable. (Davis, 2009)

The treatment of pain and treatment of uncomfortable symptoms (nausea, constipation or anxiety) are essential components of the palliative phase.

Their purpose is broad support for the ill person, both on a medical plan, relieving pain or discomfort source, preserving the dignity of the person in the accompanying psychological difficulties, the patient and his family.
