Introduction

Powerful role is played by songs to connect people with past. It is one of the main tools to capture history. American folk songs of Ballad are greatly pleasant and pleasurable songs to listen to own sake. In addition they are very good way to explore history of America. Songs directly reflect sorrows, triumphs, fears, real people's humanity who lived history, hope plus they also follow the way to understand the culture of America (Harwood, 25). Music style and songs were brought new world by African slaves British colonists and immigrants from other part of the world, since before America was declared as an independent country. These diverse people and experience of Unique American brought and encouraged new music style and new songs. The music grew, pushed, and changed, as the American saw change. The purpose of this paper is to analyze American History through songs so that we can understand the value of music and influence of music on people. I am XYZ student studying History in ABC College. This section invites reader to discover how events, local history or new modes were described in the songs (Small, 115). Song Analysis

The music, like all true art, transports dreams, fears, ambitions and fears of the artist and the time it live. Thus, we could take any song and delving into her vision of society that is reflected between each letter and each cadence heard.

We Did not Start the Fire is a song by Billy Joel that makes reference to a series of political and social events, personalities from politics and culture, movies, books and scandals that marked the period March 1949 , the year of birth of Joel, in 1989 , the year of publication of the song. Events are matched to the chorus saying We did not start the fire, literally, "We have not lit the fire." The song was a success, reaching the first position in the U.S. charts.

The song and video have been interpreted as a rejection of critical significance with respect to the generation of Joel, the baby boomers, by the generations that preceded and followed this criticism accusing them of being responsible for most of the world's problems (Bordowitz, 45). The song title and chorus argue that the turbulent and frenetic world in which baby boomers grew up, "the fire that burns” existed before them. "It was always burning since the worlds been turning".

Joel means that throughout time, there have always been problems in the world. Ever since the beginning of time. "no, we didn't light it but we tried to fight it" Joel means that even though the fire's always been there, we have been making it worse. We've been trying to fight it though. And right our wrongs. And Joel is listing the events in his lifetime that were good and bad that somehow affected the fire in the world. This explains about the coins on the eyes part.
