Introduction

The main purpose of this paper is to make an analysis on the health problem and its impact on the population or subpopulation. The health problem which is having a severe impact on the population is AIDS epidemic. The disease of AIDS is considered to be one of the most destructive health problems in the modern world. This disease is continuously ravaging the people all over the world. According to the estimations, this disease has destructed almost 25 million people by 2005. There are almost 38 billion alive people living in the world with HIV.

What is the health issue or problem you will be writing about?

The health issue which is being discussed in this paper for the health promotion is HIV/AIDS. The rate of the people suffering from HIV is increasing day by day. The number of people suffering from this disease is increasing with a huge amount. This is an alarming situation for the health promoters throughout the world (Abramson, 2008). Thus, it is necessary that the health promoters should be aware of all the possible causes of HIV, and should develop the strategies which could be helpful in minimizing the rate of this disease. HIV-infection is known to have neurological and neuropsychiatric consequences. HIV-infection negatively impacts the NP domains of executive functions, psychomotor speed, speed of information processing, attention, learning and working memory, and verbal fluency (Quinn, 921). It has been estimated that 30-50% of HIV-seropositive individuals will develop some form of neurocognitive or neurobehavioral disturbance. The impact of these neurological insults can range from barely detectable and with no appreciable functional impact on daily living to HIV-associated dementia's global impairment (Doll, 1990).
