Introduction

Abortion is the death of a child in the womb produced during any period ranging from fertilization (union of egg and sperm) to the time before birth. Abortion is a mother's act of sacrifice, love, power, and necessity. Even though it may discontinue a potential life, it saves a real one. Self defence is not considered murder; in our culture, there is a right to kill in self defence. A woman has the right to defend her health, peace of mind, and her way of life. This topic is of vital importance for the entire human race, both now and in the future. Its consequences are deplorable and contrary to such extensive spiritual revelations, that every adult can certainly not benefit, nor to consider abortion objectively, in its physical and spiritual aspects.

Socioeconomic factors have the profound impact on the rate of abortion in the United Kingdom. Various studies conducted on the issue of abortion suggest that most of the women consider socio economic factors as one of the foremost reason spurring abortion. The basic reason behind socio economic factors is having a child obstructs with work, or school, which ultimately reduces the chances of working full time.

In mid-1982, 10% of the world's population lived in the countries where the practice of abortion was prohibited in all circumstances and 18% of it, lived in countries where it was allowed only to save the life of the woman (Keown 1988, pp. 7).

Over the past 15 years, the laws relating to abortion have been liberalized in many countries, for example in Spain, this has been done to combat the high rates of illegal abortions, with its consequent complications, and in recognition of the right of women to govern reproduction.

The influence of governments in the abortion decision is not unique. Although the promotion of abortion is not common as government restrictions are broad. Moreover, we know that coerced abortion occurs in preindustrial societies when the specific situation of a given pregnancy does not conform to traditional norms and values.
