Abstract

The paper discuss about the gun control and gun violence. Gun control is one of the most debated issues in America. Bearing weapons is not a new practice in America because; it is protected by the Second Amendment of the American constitution. This paper highlights the contemporary trends in gun control, legal problems pertaining to the issue, and recommendations for solving this problem that has haunted the American public for centuries. Federal law prohibits possession of firearms to people who are recognized by a court or other legal bodies, such as to pose a danger to themselves or others. Convicted criminals, those fugitives and ladies with a record of drug addiction, are also prohibited from owning weapons.

Introduction

Gun control is basically any policy, proposal, practice or law which is designed to limit or restrict the production, possession, shipment, importation, use and sale of any firearms or guns by private and local citizens. Usually the guns are own firearms typically long guns and handguns. Usually the policies and laws of Gun control are followed strictly around the world due to safety reasons. The limits of guns are very severe in United States.

The topic of gun control is of strong debate which commonly argues the dangers of ownership of guns and who is not favor of this gun ownership argue on the self protection and liberties. Globalization has led to ever increasing intensity of the movement of goods and people. It was of great significance for United States with its policy of strict gun control. In other words, the difference in legislation on gun control in different countries is a special reason for the difference in prices in the illegal arms trade. This is basically a fee for the current movement of propagation of weapons throughout the world, to transport weapons from countries with weak laws and strong legislation (True & Utter, 2000).

When the international movement of goods and people increases, this gives a double benefit for the convenience of the people who organize the purchase of weapons smuggling and making it more difficult for the authorities to maintain effective inspection in order to detect and prevent a large entry of weapons. In order to attain a strict gun control background check is necessary.
