The house of Gucci is normally known as Gucci. It is an Italian brand for leather goods. It is the part of Gucci group. Gucci group is a French company; Guccio Gucci established it in 1921. Gucci is among the top 100 brands of the world and it is on 41st position according to the Business week of 2009. In Italian brands, Gucci is the biggest selling brand. Guccio Gucci while working in exclusive hotel got impressed by the luxurious bags, which were bought by urbane guests. When he returned to his birthplace Florence, he established shop of leather goods and classic style in 1920. Gucci organized the working method on the industrialized method for production but at the same time, he maintained the traditional method for production (Gucci.com)

In the starting years skilled labors where hired for Florentine leather crafts but with the passage of time production was done through industrialized methods. As the years passed, Gucci expanded into Milan and Rome and many more stores were opened in Florence. They also bought handbags, loafer and shoes into their product lines. In 1980s, Gucci was facing disaster due to their family disputes. In 1988, Gucci was sold to Investor Corporation. In 1989, company brought Dawn Mello for designing ready to wear to bring back the reputation of the brand. Strategic information systems are those systems, which help companies to implement their business strategies. Information systems provide information service resources, which are applied in strategic business opportunities to have a good impact on the business operations and products of the organization.

Gucci use information systems to bring efficiency, control and effectiveness in the business operations to increase the profitability of the business.
