Introduction

Middle passage is a tough experience. In our journey from Africa to America, we were bound together two by two with heavy wooden yoke fastened around our necks. We walked through forest, burdened with huge elephant's tusks. After hundred miles' march, we were shipped off to be sold to traders. We had to pass through a slave trading station.

Traders bought slaves after an inspection of their physical condition. Slaves who were not physically fit were either killed or kept for other deals.
