Abstract

Providing support services to the governmental organizations or institutions is a challenge bound with responsibility and commitment (Barber, 2012). Individual contractors or companies that provide such services are meant to be well equipped and should have a clear understanding of their job requirements. Operating and dealing in different regions especially outside the country has its own challengers. From the differences in language, weather, and other geographic variables, the contractor must be able to comprehend the challenges and manage to find a way of dealing with the issues.

Government Support Services 5.22

In the Government Support Services (5.22), the contractor dealing with the governmental agency is responsible for providing various supplies, equipment, skilled personnel paired with an efficient and effective administration.

When dealing with Government Support Services, the contractor has to acknowledge the fact that the job requires commitment and devotion as well. They are to provide the respective services efficiently in Afghanistan. The dynamics of the country are different and many factors could hinder the operations of the contractor. This could include language barrier, lack of familiarity with the area, difference in climate and most of all security concerns.

In the Performance Work Statement (PWS), the Government Support Services (5.22) is responsible for providing equipments, supplies, personnel, administration, and management services to the American troops and other governmental representatives based in Afghanistan. The contractor will be required to fulfill the banking as well as postal services of the troops and other governmental representatives.
