In the context of globalization, the issue of global crime has increased and has become a complex world wide threat to the nations in the global world. In today's era, global and international criminals engage in various illegal activities such as drug smuggling, terrorism, fraud, money laundering and bribery. Many international criminals also resort to extreme violence in order to advance their criminal enterprises.

One of the major global crimes that have affected the justice system and has become a growing issue is the drug smuggling. Over the years, the production of opium has tripled and the production of cocoa has also been doubled. It has been estimated that around $400 million of drug was traded in the recent years, which is the same as that of textile.es and other motor vehicles. The global criminal issue of drug smuggling is not associated to juts one country but is linked with the global world. With the expansion of internet and other mobile technologies, cybercrime has emerged and has become a global criminal issue for the nations all around the world. Cyber crime has targeted the citizens, business organizations and the governments of various nations. Many people are making business through cybercrimes by creating the pornography sites. If not the largest, the pornography business is considered to be one of the profitable businesses of the world. One of the cyber crimes is identity theft. These are professional hackers, who are creating a malware in order to get access to governments and consumers.

Money laundering is also an international challenge for nations. With the help of globalization, many money launders have been able to trade with greater ease. With the development of new and flexible financial systems, money laundering system has been improved and has become easy to generate illegal money.

Another major global criminal issue that has emerged and has affected societies is the issue of terrorism. The menace of terrorism is multiform. After the 9/11 attacks, many terrorist groups have emerged which have become a threat to the safety of the nations. The terrorist groups are not sponsored by any state and don't have any form an organization due to which it has become difficult to track them (Findlay, 2000)
