Introduction

A series of laboratory based experiments were conducted with the aim of evaluating the efficiency of a hyperspectal imaging technique. Applying the HyLogger as an analytical method, researchers aimed to differentiate between PHCs to an extent that the different classes of HC can be distinguished with the help of reflectance spectra and the imaging spectroscopic data that is located in diagnostic wavelength regions.

This technique was extended to discriminate spectra between individual HCs as well as to clarify the prominent absorption/reflectance behaviour of petroleum. These enabled the researchers to clearly identify all the compounds present in the samples. Describing diagnostic signature features ...
