Introduction

Following World War Two, and the Nazis atrocities against millions of Europeans especially Jews, a convention was adopted by the UN General Assembly in 1948 on the punishment and prevention of genocide crimes. This was to ensure that such situations that occurred during the war do not happen again. However, the people who framed this convention primarily for the Jewish victims of the Nazis genocide are now blind towards the genocide that is taking place against the Palestinians. Just a day after this convention, riots broke out between Israel and Palestine. The Israelis are now committing similar crimes against innocent Palestinians on a daily basis after claiming their land.

Each year, hundreds of civilians get killed because of this conflict. The number of Palestinians killed is much higher than the number of Israelis getting killed. The reason is that Israel is ruthlessly killing innocent civilians without any justification. They are living a life in which they do not know if they will survive the next day or not.

Discussion

The Palestinian-Israeli conflict started soon after the First World War and reached its highest level after the Second World War. It all started when the Palestinians demanded a separate state for themselves in order to safeguard their interests. The UN General Assembly took note of this issue in 1947 and decided to partition the region into a Jewish state, Palestinian state, and Jerusalem. This decision led to widespread riots and killings which still last till this day.

Thousands of people from both sides have are getting killed since the crises started, majority of the deaths being from the Palestinian side.
