The aim of the research was to understand the gender effects on helping behaviour towards the three levels of helping aids (heroic, problem solving and nurturing).Keeping this in mind it was studied that gender is a very complex issue having complex difference in areas like behaviour and perceptions. There has been a long term area of research towards the relationship of gender in helping behaviour which has been viewed in different aspects. There are also disparities among races and ethnicities. But one of the most important is that between men and women and the different opportunities that are before them. For the research, a hypothesis was tested stating that Women will give a higher response rate towards men in nurturing helping compared to women and men will give a higher response rate towards women in problem solving and heroic helping compared to men. The research provided sufficient evidence because of which we fail to reject the hypothesis.

CHAPTER 01: INTRODUCTION
The purpose of the research is to expand the boundaries of our horizon and contribute to the academia at large. Thing are very different in reference to many different factors, which we as humans can see, especially in the form of gender. Gender is a very complex issue having complex difference in areas like behaviour and perceptions. There has been a long term area of research towards the relationship of gender in helping behaviour which has been viewed in different aspects. Many studies in the past have focused on gender differences in helping behaviour asking the basic common question of who helps more, men or women. The studies have produced mixed results as some studies evaluate to say that men are more likely to help women (feinman, 1978) and some studies show that women are ...
