Research Proposal on the Free Zones in Ras Al Khaimah
Introduction
The Free Trade Zone Ras Al Khaimah (RAK FTZ) is one of the free trade more profitable and fastest growing in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It has received significant industry recognition by Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) magazine and Financial Times, ranking among the top five list of free zones in the future in the Middle East. Ranked fourth among more than 115 international zones, the award was revealed in the recently released ranking of the Middle East Free Zone 2011-2012 published by fDi Magazine.
RAK FTZ also was rated the third best zone in terms of economic potential of the entire Middle East [and second in the United Arab Emirates] and the fifth best free trade zone in the Middle East in terms of profitability.
More than 115 zones were evaluated in the annual ranking of the best areas of free trade and individual awards in six categories: best economic potential, improved incentives, better facilities, better transport links, the best strategy for promoting foreign direct investment and most profitable zone.
The international panel of judges used a wide range of criteria, with a strong emphasis on the major incentives offered by the special economic zones and transport links, facilities, profitability and the economic potential of the same.
In this paper, we would be finding the influence of the free trade zone of Ras Al Khaimah in the region, the political factors involved and the difficulties that being experienced by the administration and the potential businesses who want to invest there.
This research paper is based on the Free Zones in Ras Al Khaimah. The primary and secondary data collection methods will be used to analyze the results of this research paper.
Objective of the Research
The objective of this research proposal is to evaluate the significance of Free Zones in Ras Al Khaimah and its impact on the Dubai economy. Various qualitative and quantitative data collection methods will be used to draw the final conclusions and recommendations.

The following are the research questions for this study, such as:
What is the impact of Free Zones in Ras Al Khaimah on the overall economic development of the UAE?
Does the promotion and advancement of Free Zones in Ras Al Khaimah are more favorable for the global free trade?
What is the impact of Free Zones in Ras Al Khaimah on the UAE's neighboring Arab and Gulf countries?
