Introduction

The food prices all across the globe increased much rapidly and dramatically in the year 2007. However, on the other hand, this rapid and dramatic increase in the global market of food prices was also clearly visible in the first (1st) and second (2nd) quarter of the year 2008. This dramatic increase in the food prices created a worldwide crisis of food. Hence, it also caused political, as well as economic instability in nearly every corner of the globe. This rapid and dramatic increase of the food prices all across the globe created social turbulence in poor, as well as in developed countries both. Even though the electronic and the print media highlight their focus on the uprisings, which followed due to the high food prices, the continuing calamity of food uncertainty is ages in the creation. However, a systemic reason for the universal increase in the prices of food continued to be the main theme of debate. Later, after the food crises increased to its peak in the second (2nd) quarter of the year 2008 the food prices fell intensely (Van, pp: 13).

Discussion

The initial reasoning due to which there was a price hike in the later months of 2006 was due to droughts in the grain harvesting countries. However, on the other hand, the high oil process all across the globe also was one of the sole reason. The growths in the oil prices also triggered general increases in the prices of fertilizers, transportation cost of the foodstuff, along with the industrial agriculture. However, many of the people are of the belief that the cause of the food crises was due to the increment in the usage of biofuels, in most of the developed nations.
