Introduction

The Florida Principal Leadership Standards are designed for the effective operation of the school administrators. These standards help in improving the performance of the students, as well as the administrators. They make sure that the school leadership is competent enough to evaluate the school leaders as well the students. These leadership standards ensure that different programs are held that can enhance the administration system. They conduct different programs to enhance the system such as the school leadership program and the educator certification requirements. These standards are divided into ten different categories which can be known as effective leadership (Marshall & Parker, 2006). These standards are set so that effective leadership program takes place.

Analysis of the Standards

The Florida Principal Leadership Standards are set while keeping in mind the student learning and achievement. These standards focus on the development of students so that they become high achievers. According to these standards, the school leaders are interested in the goals that will help in increasing the student learning. The school leaders develop learning goals that are in line with the academic standards, and that can provide excellent student learning results. The students' performance and growth is examined through various assessments (Beckner, 2003).

According to these standards, effective school leaders present that student learning is their first priority. The leadership actions that they display are an example of this standard. The school leader ensures these actions by enabling the faculty to work while keeping their focus on student learning and by adopting various other ways that will promote student learning. This standard creates the expectation of fast learning and for achieving this purpose a motivated faculty is employed (Carr & Steutel, 1999).

Instructional Development

Faculty development is an important standard that will help in bringing out the best in students. It will keep the students motivated and will also help in maintaining the basic standard. For effective development of faculty, effective recruitment and training is carried out. The school leaders make sure that effective training sessions are carried out so that the faculty is developed according to the standards.

Learning environment is another important aspect set out in the standards. The learning environment plays a vital role in the academic development of a student. If the learning environment is motivating, the students will be able to learn easily, and faculty will be able to deliver lectures effectively (Eisner, 2003). A diverse learning environment is ensured so that the students, as well as the faculty takes advantage of it and perform in the best possible way.

It makes effective use of the decision making process and ensures that decisions are made according to the mission and vision of the school.
