This report is based on providing a feasibility regarding the company named as Share-A-Car. Specifically, this feasibility report focuses on designing a car booking system for the company. This section provides the summary of recommendations to the managers regarding the report. It is recommended to the managers that:

The whole system should be operated and managed over the Internet. So that it may provides managers with many new options and advantages compared to the database systems. It is also recommended that the system should be maintained in the server of a hosting company. The booking system must be stable and secure. The system should be designed in a manner that it must be user-friendly. It doesn't require any special knowledge besides basic computer skills and the use of a browser. (Netscape, MS Internet Explorer). It is also recommeded to the managers that the booking system should be based on a high-quality web-based service for the customers. So that they can use the Share-A-Car services worldwide 24h/day, without worrying about security or transaction costs. The system must allows to manage efficiently all manager's basic rental operations. Managers may insert the necessary data and administrate reservations to complete rental forms, which will allow them to have instant access to all pertinent information. It is also recommended that the system should be designed in a mannerso that managers may able to view information about any customer in the database which includes his/her personal data, contacts, vehicle type, rental period, office the reservation was made, drop-off location, etc. the system should allows the customers to view cars that are available at any particular moment. It msut also allows the customers to view and determine when their desired car will be available. Moreover, if their desired car is not available, this module will provide alternative cars which are similar and are currently available.

Futher, it is recommended that the system should allows to administrate every aspect of location info. The location has to be selected from the three-column table at first. The user must navigate to the preferred location by selecting the country from the first column, then the city from the second and location from the third.Also the system should allows to add/modify/delete insurance types offered at this location. Added insurances are displayed in the Insurances field and by selecting them from there the user can modify or delete the insurance type by using Modify and Delete options.

Background

This case is about a Share-A-Car Company, which provides a car on rent to its members. Basically this program provides customers with the freedom and convenience of using a car without the expense of fully owing it. As owing a car in Singapore is really expensive, therefore Share-A-Car Company targets those customers who can't own a car but need to use it infrequently.
