Fashion has made its way to almost all spheres of our lives and its designing is a very lucrative profession. To exhibit the latest fashion and dresses various fashion shows and parades are held. These dresses are basically designed to fit in to every occasion in life. Films are the major source where the students are generally found copying fashion from. Men are also found to spend a lot of time and money on fashion. They are even known to take smoking and drinking in the name of fashion and fail to realize the adverse effect it has on their health. Meetings and parties have also become a fashion part in this modern time period. However, fashion is also known to instill confidence in the youngsters mind. Fashion is not suppose to degrade our life, rather should be promoted to enrich it.

Also among the many sources which promote fashion among the youngsters and others is advertisement. Advertisement is known to be playing a very important role in promoting fashion around the world, and is a major source of influence among many. The use of celebrities endorsements and athletes representing brands and various products have influenced the use of those products and brands to a very high level among the consumers and has even influenced and developed various trends in fashions. There is an irresistible attraction in consumerism. In today's world, consumption levels have gone up in order to cater to affluent modern lifestyles, and are far greater than those needed to address basic physiological requirements. The role of advertising in fashion consumption is vital since advertising is a medium through which a group of people or audience (readers, listeners or viewers) is encouraged to go for a commercial offering, although other kinds of advertising are also common, such as ideological as well as political. In an increasingly fashion conscious world, advertising plays a significant role, since awareness about different products and goods is essential if consumers are to buy them. Therefore, fashion houses and leading brands focus a lot of their energies on advertisement of their products, in order to benefit from the far reaching effects of advertising in today's world. Advertising is reaching to the audience, in order to make any commercial offering, and as a result of the diverse means through which advertising is possible, large numbers of people could be reached at the same time, thereby increasing the chances of selling the product to the consumer.
